Welcome to The Paper Lab!

Join us for a two-session paper-oriented workshop that will unlock the artistic potential of the humble sewing machine.

In this unique experience called The Sewing Machine Lab, participants will discover the boundless creative freedom and expressive possibilities that the sewing machine offers in the world of crafting and art.

Session 1: Unraveling the Possibilities

In our first paper-centric session, we will dive into the diverse techniques and methods using the sewing machine as a multidisciplinary tool. The focus will be on various paper-related skills, including different methods to print, screen making, embossing, and cutting techniques. From free-motion embroidery to machine and floating embroidery, we will explore a multitude of paper materials to create captivating multi-dimensional images and textures in sizes of your choosing.

Together, we'll experiment with various paper types and learn how to process them effectively on the sewing machine. You'll be introduced to punching, soldering paper, alternative printing techniques, paper felting, and much more. Our goal is to unleash your creativity and push the boundaries of what this versatile tool can achieve with paper.

Session 2: Weaving Your Creations

Between sessions, you'll have the chance to practice what you've learned at home, gaining a deeper understanding of the techniques, especially those centered around paper crafting. Our second session will be a consolidation of your newfound skills, where we'll solidify the paper materials and create mesmerizing assemblages of your own unique paper-based creations.
